Roulette Game Rules

Roulette Game

Roulette Game was first played in France in the 17th century. It is now one of the most popular European gambling games. The Monte Carlo in Monaco is one of the oldest and famous casinos where tou can play roulette. Today many people play this popular casino game just online via the Internet , often through live casinos.

Roulette Basic Information

The Players, usually eight, play against the house represented by the croupier also called the dealer. This spins the roulette wheel and handles the wagers and the payouts. In the European and French version of roulette, the wheel has 37 slots, and the wheel has 36 numbers and the number 0. In the USA most roulette wheels have two zeros and therefore 38 slots , roulette rules are also all equal out these differences.

In a casino , each player receives a different color chips so betts do not go together. At the end of the game, if you win , you can exchange your chips for cash chips. These are special chips with the value amount put out . There are several denominations in various colors. You take these chips to the cash desk where they exchange your chips for real money.
To play roulette you must place bets on numbers (any number including 0) in the table layout or on the outside. When everyone has had a chance at the table to place a bet , the croupier starts to spin the wheel and drop the ball. A few moments before the ball is about to fall, the croupier says ' no more bets '. From that moment on, no one can place or change a bet until a new round begins. Only after the croupier dolly on the winning number and all losing bets are recovered, may again be placed bets while the croupier pays the winners. The winners are those whose bets are on or around the number that win, as well as the bets on the outside of the layout win if the number represent.

The house advantage

On a single zero roulette table the house advantage is 2.7%. On a double zero roulette is 5.26% (7.9% in the five number bet , 0-00-1-2-3 ) . The house advantage is gained by paying the winners a chip or two ( or part of it ) less than what it would have been if there was no advantage.

The ' prison' rule

If the zero cases, then some casinos allow the player or the half of his bet back, or lost (in prison) for another roulette spin. In the second case , if the outcome is again zero, then the player loses his entire bet.

The ' sharing ' rule

The sharing of roulette rule is similar to the prison rule. Only in this case the player loses half of his bet and does not have the ability to do his bet " in prison for another spin. This refers to the 'outside' money bets Red / Black, High / Low , Odd / Even and applies when the outcome is zero. Both the ' share ' and ' prison' roulette rules cut the edge of the casino ' even-money bets ' in half.So a bet on Red on a single-zero roulette table with the two lines has a 1.35% house advantage. And a house advantage on a double - zero roulette table by 2.63%.

The payouts

  • A bet on a whole number (straight-up bet is paid 35 to 1. (you will ultimately receive 36 chips, including your own bet).
  • A two - number bet paid 17 to 1.
  • A three - number bet paid 11 to 1.
  • A four - number bet also called corner bet paid 8 to 1.
  • A six - number bet paid 5 to 1.
  • A column bet paid 2 to 1.
  • A bet on red or black paid 1 to 1.

Goal of the game

To win free roulette , the player must guess where the ball lands after the spin. This is not easy. Luck plays , in fact, an important role in this game. Some players bet on the 'hot' numbers and expect, therefore, there is also more and more often will fall. Others see which numbers have not fallen yet and bet on it , because they believe that it is now up to those numbers. Some players bet on many numbers to increase their chances of winning at every spin , but the payouts are significantly reduced in this way. Other methodical players use specific roulette systems or methods, money management systems, or both.

French roulette rules

The French roulette rules are very similar to the European roulette rules. It has the same 37 numbered wheel with a zero. But a different table layout for outside bets. The player odds in French roulette are the same as in European roulette ( only one zero) and better than the odds in American roulette ( two zeros). The players lose only 50% of their even-money bets when the outcome is zero , known as the " La Partage " rule. The object of the game is still the same - to predict which number the ball falls out of 37 chances. And of course, they speak French. Below are the English and equivalent French terms for the various roulette bets.
Inside bets:
  • * 1 number
  • * 2 numbers Split bet
  • * 3 numbers Street bet
  • * 4 number corner
  • * 6 numbers Line Bet

Outside bets:
  • * Twelve numbers Column
  • * Twelve numbers Boxes

Canasta Roulette

In Costa Rica , same table games, different names , others have different names and different rules.Roulette in the casinos of Costa Rica are also called "Canasta" and is played with a double 0 layout. However, instead of making use of a roulette wheel , the winning numbers are selected by a circular wire cage with numbered balls in it. This is similar to a type of cage which is also used in the bingo halls.
